Ravens Character Concept and Costume

The Ravens were the main bad guys in HS2. These concepts begin looking at who they are; part bird, part insect and part samurai. Like most bad guys they’re usually more stressed than complacent.

The Twins

The Twins were to be a  feature of HS2. Reluctantly shackled together they were conceived as an odd, comic couple. This group of drawings explores character, costume and shape as well as the mechanics of their motion.

HS2 was to be populated by various tribes. This set of drawings run through simple costume variations and general shapes for the mongols.

After Heavenly Sword’s success work was started on a sequel.  I had been art liaison between Ninja Theory and Sony towards the end of HS1’s development so when the franchise moved in-house, and Ninja moved onto other things, it was natural that I would begin fleshing out the visuals that would fuel the development of the sequel. These are some of them. The new cast of characters included a duo that were reluctantly shackled together as well as some deeply unsettling raven enemies which I particularly enjoyed playing with.
