Icarus | Oil on Panel | 32″ x 24″
I’ve always liked the Breughel painting, “Landscape with the fall of Icarus” and the Auden poem about the Breughel painting ( “Musee des Beaux Arts” ). Both are about how we don’t know what’s important, or think some things are when they’re not. Anyway this painting is a wilful misunderstanding of the poem and the painting.
